"I have said before that I like Vegas and I like conspiracy theories about aliens," admits Bryce. "Those two things tie together for me, primarily because Area 51 is located a couple hours north of Las Vegas, near Rachel, Nevada. I've been there. I've been to The Little A'Le'Inn. Back in 1995, I had an amazing conversation with the owner, Pat Travis, who swears she has seen things that defy anything man-made. After talking to her, I believe her. And I've been to the mailbox that marks the entry point to Area 51.
"If you have never seen that mailbox - because it has since been removed - you're looking at it in this piece. I placed a disembodied boy with a backpack on top of it, with a beam of light shining down on him. For the person who hangs this on their wall, I hope that you enjoy the wonder of the unknown as much as I do. And when you turn out the lights at night, the glow-in-the-dark paint will turn the beam and the sides of this piece an eerie blue, and it should keep that wonder going just a little longer."
